Yellow paint and fake Trailhawk accents are new for the 2023 Jeep Renegade.

New for the 2023 Renegade lineup is the Upland trim, which can be had for as little as $32,185.

The Upland borrows heavily from the Trailhawk’s design language, but lacks that vehicle’s off-road capabilities.

Priced at $495, the brand-new Solar Yellow hue is available now.

The Jeep Renegade first appeared in the 2015 model year, and while it is starting to show its age, Jeep is attempting to keep it interesting by releasing new trims and colours. New for the 2023 Renegade is the Upland trim, which adds an off-road look for an extra $495, and Solar Yellow paint.

The Upland, with its median price and average features for the 2023 Renegade lineup, is priced at $32,185. It appears to be the Trailhawk off-road package, with its black hood graphic, unique front and rear fascias, and 17-inch wheels, though it lacks the red tow hooks found on the Trailhawk. The Trailhawk’s upgraded four-wheel-drive system includes a low-range gearing option that the Upland lacks.

Each 2023 Jeep Renegade is powered by a 177-horsepower turbocharged 1.3-liter inline-four mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Jeep’s Active Drive system comes standard on lower trims, while the Trailhawk’s ($33,540) Active Drive Low adds a low range Rock setting to the Selec-Terrain drive-mode system in addition to standard all-wheel drive.

There has been no word on a replacement for the Renegade, so it may be a while before it is replaced. Jeep has begun selling the Avenger, a similarly sized electric vehicle, in Europe; it is possible that this model will make its way to the U.S. to compete in the subcompact segment.
