MG Comet EV

MG Motor India’s second all-electric vehicle will shortly be available on the Indian market. After introducing the MG ZS EV in January 2020, the company will enter the new compact electric car market with Comet. The brand-new MG Comet EV will make its official debut in India on April 19, 2023.

The MG Comet, a three-door electric hatchback with a distinct appearance, will be unlike any other EVs currently available in India. It will have a wheelbase of 2,010 mm, a length of 2,974 mm, a height of 1,631 mm, and a width of 1,505 mm. Even though it is an entry-level EV, the new Comet will be loaded to the gills with features. Other features include dual 10.25-inch displays, a two-spoke steering wheel, two airbags, ABS with EBD, and ESC.

The upcoming MG Comet EV is anticipated to be equipped with a 20 kWh lithium-ion battery cell that could provide approximately 250 km of range per charge. It will be propelled by a 45 horsepower electric motor mounted behind the rear axle. It will not support DC charging, and it will take approximately 8.5 hours to fully charge using a standard AC charger.

The new MG Comet for the Indian market will be an innovative electric vehicle. Its production has already begun, and pricing should be disclosed shortly. Ex-showroom, MG’s Comet is anticipated to cost less than 10 lakh rupees. It will compete immediately with automobiles such as the Citroen eC3, Tata Tiago EV, and others.
