The Lamborghini Urus Performante undoubtedly faced stiff opposition from the BMW M340i xDrive in order to win the award. The Urus Performante claimed the Functionality Car of the Year award for 2023 after setting a number of blisteringly fast laps at the British International Circuit (BIC). The Urus is powered by a 4.-liter turbocharged V8 engine that generates 666 horsepower, but torque remains unchanged at 850 Nm. This allows the Urus Performante to reach 100 km/h in a claimed 3.3 seconds and a maximum speed of 306 km/h.

In addition to the three off-road modes – Sabbia (Sand), Neve (Snow), and Terra (Mud) – the Urus Performante features a new ‘Rally Mode’. In addition, the Urus Performante is 20mm shorter, 16mm wider, and 25mm longer than the standard Urus. In addition, the exterior of the Urus Performante features a new hood with cooling ducts and a significantly more aggressive front bumper design. The rear bumper is modified to make it appear more sporty.

The only other competitor to the Urus Performante for Functionality Automobile of the 12 months was the BMW M340i xDrive, which did everything it could to impress our jury consumers at BIC, but the Urus Performante walked away with the award.
