The GT 63 S E Performance, Mercedes-new AMG’s flagship model, is available in India for a price tag of up to Rs. 3.30 crore. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance is the first plug-in hybrid vehicle, and it’s a four-door coupe. It’s also the most potent car the company has ever produced.

In addition, Mercedes-AMG has announced that seven-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton will personally hand over the keys to each and every GT 63 S E Performance purchased.

Outwardly, the AMG GT 63 S E Performance differs slightly from the standard model. The two-door AMG GT served as inspiration for the makeover of the front bumper, while other characteristics include unique exhaust outlets and intricately carved 20- or 21-inch alloy wheels. The trunk lid opens to reveal the car’s charging outlet. Excluding these modifications, there is no visual difference between the standard GT 63 S 4-door coupe and the plug-in hybrid 4-door coupe.

AMG GT 63 S E Performance also has a few minor interior upgrades. Like with previous Mercedes plug-in hybrid vehicles, the MBUX infotainment system in the beautiful sedan gives drivers with hybrid-specific statistics like real-time power consumption data, an EV range indication, and an electric motor power gauge.

To further personalise the audio experience, drivers can select between a “balanced” and “strong” setting using controls located on the steering wheel or centre console. The car can be driven with only one foot on the pedal thanks to its seven different drive modes and four different levels of regenerative braking.
