Fisker, a California-based EV startup, recently unveiled three new models and promises that by the end of 2025, its inventory will grow to include four vehicles. The plan calls for a four-door convertible called the Rnin, a cheap crossover called the Pear, and a pickup truck called the Alaska, all of which will be marketed alongside the current Ocean SUV.


The company’s CEO and chief architect, Henrik Fisker, needs to increase production to 1 million vehicles each year. He thinks the corporation achieves that goal through a variety of innovative and skillfully engineered automobiles.

The big surprise came with the confirmation of the rumoured pickup truck, which would be called Alaska. We have already seen teasers for Rnin and Pear. The three had just finished a concept presentation at the company’s Item Vision Working Day event. Even if their designs could change by the time they reach generation, every single one has cutting-edge elements and eco-friendly materials.

The Pear promises a starting price that is far less than $30,000. Although it isn’t significantly smaller than the Ocean, this subcompact crossover has been extensively redesigned and will be built on a new lightweight, less expensive platform.

According to Fisker, compared to routine manufacture, there are 35% fewer parts used. In theory, that should amount to a rather straightforward offer, but a peek inside the Pear at the party gave guarantees that it will still provide as intended. There will be a 6-seat interior configuration available that replaces the two front bucket seats with a three-across bench. In place of the typical SUV liftgate on the back, Fisker has created a novel drawer-style rear trunk. In the front, a motorised retractable panel that slides completely out of the way is powered by the front bumper.

In order to qualify for federal tax incentives, the company’s strategy is to build the Pear in Ohio at Foxconn’s Lordstown assembly factory. Production is expected to begin in the middle of 2025, but the firm’s CEO told Auto and Driver that there is still much to be finalised before the SUV is ready for a crucial period.

The Rnin, Fisker’s first attempt at an environmentally friendly luxury automobile again in 2012, resembles a somewhat revived Karma and has four doors with butterfly designs. With several electric motors producing 1,000 horsepower and standard all-wheel drive, Fisker claims that 60 mph should be reached in 2. seconds. The battery pack is said to provide a claimed 600-mile driving range.

Since it will undoubtedly cost a 6-figure price when it goes on sale, its place at the top of the Fisker lineup leaves a lot of space between the Rnin and the Ocean. By the way, the timing for that could be a few years away.

Surprisingly, out of the few new items, the Alaska pickup truck seems to be the most production-ready. The Alaska is modelled after the Ocean and has a pickup truck bed that pulls the cabin and a drop-down midgate that extends the bed inside the cabin. This feature, which is reminiscent of the long-gone Chevy Avalanche (and the new Silverado EV), allows the Alaska to maintain its compact size while providing you with the ability to tow heavier loads.

The advertised range of the Alaska is less than that of the Ocean, however Fisker stated to expect at least 230 miles for each charge in the base model, with much more expensive longer-range models promising up to 340 miles. The Alaska is expected to start at $45,400, and while though the company isn’t discussing output location just yet, it confirmed to C/D that it will be constructed in the United States. We anticipate that the Alaska will begin production before the Pear, and Fisker stated during the event that it might start taking orders as soon as December 2024.

The Ocean Force E concept will also be produced by Fisker in a generation edition as part of a package deal for the Ocean SUV. The Pressure E will be equipped with off-street accessories, such as significantly more potent all-terrain tyres, enlarged fenders, and a cargo box with a roof-top rating.

Is Fisker’s most recent system likewise powerful?
