Alfa Romeo’s CEO has verified the Giulia lineup will switch to an electric powertrain by 2025. Alfa expects the base interpretation to produce 350 power, the Veloce to produce 800 power, and for the Quadrifoglio to make upward of 1000 power.

The new Giulia will be produced on the Stellantis Group’s STLA Large platform, with 800V,ultra-rapid charging, and a range of over to 500 long hauls.

The achingly beautiful Alfa Romeo Giulia and its minatory Quadrifoglio variant will both make the switch to the electric period.

Alfa’s CEO Jean- Philippe Imparato made the rounds through European newsrooms last week and verified the future of the Giulia hydrofoil. Most important is that the Giulia nameplate will survive the electrification switch and will move to the Stellantis Group’s forthcoming EV STLA Large platform. The STLA Large platform is grounded on the Giorgio platform that Giulia is presently erected on.

According to an interview Imperato gave to theU.K.’s Top Gear, the electric Giulia will have up to 500 long hauls of range and will use an 800-volt armature, allowing for fast- charging. Unfortunately, it appears the switch to electrification will gesture the death of the storming hot binary- turbo2.9-litre V6 from the current Giulia Quadrifoglio.

The downside of the switch is a massive increase in power. Imparato told Top Gear that the base interpretation will produce 350 power, and the Veloce will make 800 power. He also said the galvanized Quadrifoglio will basically double in power to 1000 power.

Alfa Romeo Considering we are two times out from the new auto, we anticipate those numbers to change a bit by launch time, but we are excited by the estimates either way.

Imparato went on to explain the significance of maintaining character through the electrification,” I do not want you to suffer vexation from switching to EV. The question for me isn’t whether to switch to EV, it’s to get the right running and dexterity.”

The Veloce and Quadrifoglio could take on an analogous setup to the forthcoming Maserati GranTurismo Folgore, which has three electric motors — one at the front and two at the back — but we anticipate the Alfa will use a skateboard battery configuration, while the Maserati battery uses some of the” machine” bay.
