2024 Audi Q8 E-Tron joins the 300-mile club—in Sportback form

For the 2024 Q8 E-Tron series, Audi had promised a range of roughly 300 miles for at least one type, and it has now verified that range for Sportback versions of the crossover EV.

The Q8 E-Tron, which takes the place of the preceding Audi E-Tron SUV and E-Tron Sportback, has received official assortment rankings from the EPA. The regular SUV version of the Q8 is rated for 285 miles, while the coupe-like Q8 E-Tron Sportback is rated for 300 miles.

This is due to a battery pack that is now 114 kwh (106 kwh of which are usable), as well as numerous upgrades that make the Q8 E-Tron significantly more enjoyable to drive than the previous model. Effectiveness has gradually increased as well; for the SUV, for example, it went from 79 MPGe to 81 MPGe combined.

The 3-motor E-Tron S products now carry SQ8 E-Tron badging and have received many of the same updates as the dual-motor Q8 models, in addition to updating and rebranding the foundation versions of almost every body style. Audi claims that the additional rear motor’s 496 horsepower and 718 lb-ft of torque will enable SQ8 models to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds.

Audi’s first mass-produced EV, the original E-Tron, was introduced for the 2019 model year. Since then, Audi has added the E-Tron GT sedan and Q4 E-Tron crossover models, each of which uses underpinnings from other Volkswagen Group brands. While the MEB technology in the Q4 E-Tron is shared with the VW ID.4, the E-Tron GT is taken from the Porsche Taycan.

With the primary E-Tron, Audi sought consistency in real-world selection rather than the best EPA selection. But it was discovered that some buyers avoided the vehicle as a result, therefore this model does focus heavily on the window sticker as well.
